Despite the disruptions to the system caused by the pandemic, Courts continue to issue important rulings on a wide variety of matters. For the first two hours of this CLE, Professor Antkowiak presents a summary of the important cases decided by the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Pennsylvania Superior Court from January 1, 2020 through July1, 2020. The cases cover a wide variety of areas affecting criminal, employment and other issues and reflect not only the continuation of existing trends in the law but portend new areas Courts wish to explore in the future.

The final hour of ethics discusses means by which attorneys can effectively communicate with their clients in other than face-to-face interactions. Expert staff from the IT Department of Saint Vincent College present alternatives for lawyers to use in interacting with clients in ways that are as safe as such interactions can be but also provide effective means to build the sort of trusting relationship necessary to effective representation.

The program is for three hours, two substantive and one ethics credit and offered at $25.00.
