THIS EVENT IS 100% FREE!

Recent events have highlighted the importance of the Grand Jury on both the federal and state levels and the complexity of the issues that arise in connection with investigations conducted by them. This CLE explores some of those complexities and the ethical problems criminal investigations present for attorneys.

Professor Antkowiak will cover a history of the Grand Jury and some of the legal issues presented by the evolution from the Grand Jury to the preliminary hearing system in Pennsylvania. One hour of his discussion will be devoted to ethical issues arising during the investigative stage of criminal prosecutions for prosecutors and defenders.

The final hour will be presented by Christopher Winkler, a graduate of Saint Vincent College and a cum laude graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law. Mr. Winkler published a recent article in the Duquesne Law Review regarding issues involving actions of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury and concerns for the protection of repetitional interests those practices have occasioned.

Completion of this CLE will afford you two substantive and one ethics credit.  Please use the link provided on this page to register for this online class.
