Graduate Courses: There are Graduate courses connected to some conference sessions and are offered for a separate fee. Earn up to six (6) hours of graduate credit by attending and completing follow up assignments. View the "Graduate Courses" tab for more information and to view DRAFT syllabi. Each 3 hour course is $99. All graduate courses are approved through Concord University.


Stipends and Incentives: There are stipends and incentives available for school staff for students in grades 5-8. Catch My Breath (one of the sessions) participants will be given an opportunity for teachers/facilitators for grades 5-8 to earn a one time $250 stipend. Schools serving students in grades 5-8 will have an opportunity to earn one-time incentives from $1000-$5000.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders,


Participants must complete 2 hours of online pre-work prior to the in-person session and take both Part 1 (morning) and Part 2 (afternoon) sessions.


Upon successfully passing a post-test, participants will be certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.


Graduate Credit Information: Two (2) graduate courses, a total of six (6) graduate hours, are connected to this training. Darkness to Light is a trauma and evidence-informed training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Featuring the same proven framework, this program has undergone significant updates to the curriculum and trainee experience, and all are encouraged to participate, even if you’ve completed the training before. Through the lived experience of survivors and the testimony of experts, Darkness to Light teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families, and communities. Each participant will receive a workbook and resources. Whether you’ve worked with families for 20 years or two weeks, this is a must have training for anyone working with children of any age.

Catch My Breath is an evidence-based youth nicotine vaping prevention program for grades 5-12 that will provide your students with the skills to resist peer pressure and media influences to try e-cigarettes. This training prepares participants to teach the Catch My Breath curriculum of four (4) 35-minute sessions, which can be taught during a normal class period, during homeroom, student enrichment time, after-school, or at other non-school activities and clubs.
