The City of Irvine, in partnership with South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, will gather the community for the sixth annual Mid-Autumn Festival to participate in a thousand-year-old tradition. Explore unique cultural displays and discover valuable resources provided by local community organizations. This family-friendly festival includes education, live entertainment, crafts, specialty food, artistic demonstrations, night market, and games.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. Held under the full moon, it is an annual festival traditionally celebrated by many East and Southeast Asian cultures as a way to give thanks for the year's bountiful harvest. It is a holiday that brings families together to enjoy holiday treats and celebratory activities.

Come celebrate the diversity of Irvine and enjoy an evening with family, friends, and neighbors.

The Mid-Autumn Festival features unique entertainment that celebrates diversity and traditional forms of performance, showcasing a variety of cultural genres through music, dance, and vocals on the main stage. Beyond stage performances, the Festival also educates the community through interactive demonstrations and workshops designed to encourage participation and learning. From food demonstrations to instructional dance and writing lessons, these experiences help weave together the many traditions, histories, and cultures celebrated at the festival.
