The world is experiencing an unparalleled technological and scientific revolution that has, and will continue to, fundamentally change the way we live and work. From robotics and artificial intelligence, to genomics, biotechnology, and quantum computing—our future will be shaped by the groundbreaking, translational work being done in the bioscience industry today. BIO5 researchers are leaders in this revolution, working together to advance the pace of scientific discovery by tackling complex biology-based challenges affecting humanity.
The Technology and Research Initiative Fund (TRIF) funding that helped launch BIO5 in 2001 continues to be a catalyst in establishing major initiatives which provide a return on investment to the people of Arizona: novel research efforts that will improve health and save lives, and an entrepreneurial culture with scientists working across disciplines to accelerate commercial translation of research breakthroughs.
During the month of February 2019, the BIO5 Institute will host a series of exciting events designed to showcase the innovative research happening now at the University of Arizona and the inspiring ways we are preparing our next generation of scientists for their future.
The culmination of this month-long celebration of science will be our special invitation open house and reception on Wednesday, February 27. This will be a “public sneak peek” into BIO5’s world-class research and discovery endeavors focused on solving the world’s grand challenges, improving society, and impacting Arizona.
