Join us for a training focused on the prosecutor’s role in Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases. Faculty members will discuss the constitutional, federal and state laws underlying child welfare cases. Attendees will explore the safety decision model used by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, reasonable efforts both to prevent removal and to further the permanency goal, and the Family First Act. Learn what all these topics mean to prosecutors and how to apply these principals to everyday work. The training will incorporate legal ethics and legal professionalism. 


This conference will focus on the key information for District Attorneys in the Child in Need of Care process and will include:

The New Safety Decision Model

Legal Ethics

Reasonable Effort

Family First Prevention Services Act

Legal Professionalism
