While book studies alone cannot solve the systemic racism present in the way we do schooling, our hope is that after learning and discussing together, participants in this book study will move into action. Changing policies and practices is hard work. Regardless of its difficulty, this is the work we must do. Our students — especially those most vulnerable and marginalized — and our society as a whole deserve nothing less.
