This class will focus on providing a brief overview of the Seamless Summer Option and give you an in-depth look at what you can expect during the SSO Administrative Review process. We will go over some common findings that frequently occur in SSO reviews, and share some valuable resources that can help you to prepare for your upcoming SSO review.

In this workshop, we will be exploring the fundamentals of the Smart Snacks in Schools program. We will look at the standards of the Smart Snack program, the foods those standards apply to, and the variety of situations in which food items may or may not need to meet the standards described here. Additionally, this workshop will go into detail about the use of fundraiser exemptions which can be used to allow the sale of some non-Smart Snack foods in specific situations. Finally, we will look at the Smart Snack Calculator, a tool used to determine the status of a food item and whether it complies with the standards or not, and show examples of how you can use this tool to help with the selection of food items for your schools. 

The Seamless Summer Option (SSO) class will review what Seamless Summer Option is, who qualifies for this program, what the different eligibilities are and the regulations of this program. This class will also go step by step on the application process.
