Overview of Session (over the course of 2 half days):
Join this session to get all your co-teaching needs met! This workshop will provide participants with detailed information about creating and maintaining co-teaching partnerships in elementary and secondary schools as a framework for fostering inclusive practices, providing access to the general curriculum, and assisting all students to achieve outcomes based on today’s high standards. These 2 sessions are ideal for those co-teachers (or administrators supporting co-teaching) who are new to co-teaching, beginning a new co-teaching partnership, or have not yet had formal professional development on co-teaching. Co-teacher teams are strongly encouraged to attend together.
Participants will be introduced to co-teaching trends and will:
•Define true co-teaching and investigate the Co-teaching Core Competencies Framework
•Learn the requisite co-teaching skills
•Develop critical skills necessary for successful, sustainable co-teaching partnerships
•Investigate tools to begin setting the stage for co-teaching roles and responsibilities and expand to goal setting
•Develop a foundational understanding of co-teaching models for use in the classroom (both in person and virtually)
