Epigenetics, a relatively new science, is the study of changes in DNA expression. This new science unlocks a new understanding of how genetics works. Participants will build their own knowledge of epigenetics and how to weave the topic into their lessons. Through experiential activities, learn about the latest research and the connection between our environment and our genetics. Using literacy and biotechnology activities, discover how to make science standards applicable to your students' lives. You might also discover some very interesting things about yourself as well! If you have questions about the workshop, contact Michelle Benigno (828-206-3014 / mtbenign@ncsu.edu). If you have questions about registration, contact LaDonna Sluder at WRESA (lsluder@wresa.org).
