The purpose of the 2022 ADVANCED Academy is to provide training on mass tragedy pre-planning, victim services coordination, command level response, and post-incident response, with a focus on how victim services can be most effective. This academy is limited to 44 people and preference will be given to applicants who oversee law enforcement victim services, those advocates who would be responding to mass tragedy, DA victim witness personnel, and any OEM personnel.
This training is $550, which includes all materials on a thumb drive. Please bring your own laptop, iPad, etc. You are responsible for your own travel, lodging, and meals. One working lunch is provided.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO We kindly ask that if you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, please wear a mask for this academy. If you become ill, regardless of vaccination status please notify COVA staff.
Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on September 19, 2022. You will be notified of acceptance by September 26, 2022 of applying. Hotel rooms must be reserved by October 16. Payment will be due 10 days after acceptance or by October 10, whichever comes first. Registration fee refunds, less a $50 handling fee, are available if a cancellation notice is received by writing on Friday, October 28th. No refunds will be available after October 28, 2022.
