Program Description
This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, advanced life support personnel and other health care professionals who may deal with the pediatric emergency patient.
Course Objectives
Discuss the different types of eating disorders in children
Identify the various presenting complaints of patients with undiagnosed eating disorders
Discuss diagnostic assessment for eating disorder patients
Review the options for management of various stages of eating disorder
Review trends in local incidence rates for pediatric mental health presentations
Develop an awareness of mental health levels of care and local mental health resources
Understand current barriers to care and challenges with the pediatric mental health system
