For this year’s Women’s History celebration, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Mindy Farmer as our speaker, on the topic of “Portraying Women’s Strength.” Dr. Farmer joined the National Portrait Gallery as a historian in 2022, after serving as an assistant professor of history and Director of the May 4 Visitors Center at Kent State University. At the National Portrait Gallery she conducts research, proposed exhibitions, writes biographies of subjects in the museum collection, and develops programming for PORTAL, the gallery’s scholarly center.
