Preschool should be a joyful learning environment that not only cultivates positive approaches to learning (e.g., problem-solving, persistence, inquiry, engagement) but also prepares young children for essential knowledge and skills necessary for school readiness. This deep dive institute emphasizes the development of these core knowledge and skills within the domains of social emotional learning, literacy, and mathematics. Participants will actively engage in 2 back-to-back half-day sessions, one focusing on literacy and the other on mathematics.

What To Expect

• In the literacy session, participants specifically explore key predictors of early literacy development, including oral language, alphabetic knowledge, print awareness, comprehension, and written expression.  
• In the math session, participants review 5 content strands (numeracy, geometry, measurement, data analysis, and algebraic reasoning) that build foundations for formal mathematics in elementary school and beyond. 
• Both sessions incorporate strategies for integrating social emotional development across all learning domains.  

Be sure to attend as all participants will walk away from both sessions with materials and sample activities they can immediately implement in their classroom! 

Attendance Certificates

Participants will receive a certificate for 6 hours of continuing professional development service hours for completion of the training.
