The objective of this program is to train Graduates to enter the industry as NCCCO Certified Construction Crane Operators and Riggers.
Mobile Crane 4-Week Curriculum/Certification:
Students train to become certified operators of Hydraulic Boom Mobile Cranes. Successful graduates will earn six NCCCO Certifications. NCCCO Exams take place during the course and will include Written & Practical Certification tests. Passing these exams results in the following NCCCO Certifications: (TSS) Fixed Cab Hydraulic Crane, (TLL) Swing Cab Hydraulic Crane, (STC) Service Truck Crane, Rigger Level 1, and Signal Person Certification.
Students will receive supervised, hands-on training in the operation of multiple construction cranes including rigging loads with hook block and overhaul ball attachments. Students will spend approximately 55% of their training time in the field performing tasks that include; designed lifts, setting up cranes, practicing smooth operating techniques, blind lifts, rigging, and signaling. Students will follow all safety procedures, including equipment inspections. Classroom time is inclusive of learning ASME Standards and OSHA regulations for crane operations, proper setup of cranes, wire rope reeving, crane safety, load charts, and proper operating methods. There are required reading and homework assignments daily. In the training field, students perform all projects under the supervision of NCCCO certified instructors who advise and guide them. The training atmosphere mimics the conditions that exist in the workplace.
NCCCO certification is essential for successful employment as a crane operator. Colorado Crane Operator School has the distinction of being an approved NCCCO testing facility. The course, therefore, is tailored to give trainees the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to excel during the examination process. In the last week of this course, students will complete the NCCCO exams, using the same equipment they were trained on for the practical portion of testing. No fees are charged for the first written and practical NCCCO examinations. However, students are required to pay a nominal re-testing fee in order to retake any examinations they should fail.
Students not accepted to the school are entitled to a full refund. Students who cancel this contract by notifying the school within three (3) business days, but before commencement of classes, are entitled to a full refund of all tuition and fees paid except the maximum cancellation charge of $150.00 or 25% of the contract price, whichever is less. In the case of students withdrawing after commencement of classes, the school will retain the cancellation charge plus a percentage of tuition and fees, which is based on the percentage of contact hours attended in the Program, as described in the table below. The refund is based on the official date of termination or withdrawal.
NOTE: If there are any significant weather changes, all outside events will be postponed until further notice due to the fact that we have no control over the weather. As with all cranes and other mechanical equipment, unexpected issues can present themselves at any time and cause unforeseen delays and/or cancellations. All attempts will be made to reschedule events at a convenient time for all parties if an event occurs during a scheduled practice time or exam session.
