STEM Explorations: Access for All

Exploration of STEM careers and career pathways is a key strategy to encourage youth’s participation in STEM opportunities and identification with STEM, especially for girls, rural youth, and other youth who have been systemically underrepresented in STEM. This workshop will introduce strategies and resources for effectively integrating STEM career information into afterschool programming, including high-quality resources that showcase diverse STEM professionals and careers. Presented by National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP)

Thursday, Feb 22 – 6:30pm – 8pm via zoom

It’s Not as Hard as It Sounds – All Youth Can & Should Engineer!

How can you guide youth to tap into their strengths and experiences, think creatively, use multiple modes of communication, and collaborate with peers? Help them develop an engineering mindset! In this interactive workshop we will highlight a framework for equity-oriented engineering learning and fun, and take away strategies for creating environments that are inclusive and that invite ALL learners to participate and develop an engineering mindset. Presented by Shannon McManus, Director of Professional Learning, Museum of Science, Boston
