A workshop for widowed individuals aiming to strengthen their support systems amidst grief emphasizing building resilience through community bonds. Participants will map their current networks, identify growth areas, and explore diverse support—emotional, practical, and spiritual. The workshop covers nurturing relationships, setting boundaries, expanding networks, and finding new avenues of support. Attendees will leave with a plan, resources, and new connections for healing.

This workshop will focus on the emotional challenges to administering the estate of your spouse and family issues. We will review the legal steps to take and planning for your own future estate planning needs.

Discover the healing benefits of writing through your loss and grief.

Through writing prompts, we’ll explore ways to open your heart, find your voice and tell your unique story. Whether writing is new for you or you have regularly kept a journal, this is an opportunity to start another chapter together!

A note from the facilitator:

I lost my wife Maureen in November 2022 to a rare and aggressive cancer that was diagnosed less than three months earlier. Although I have been writing my entire life, the anticipatory grief leading up to her passing compounded with the trauma that overwhelmed me following her death, left me incapable of picking up a pen. We had shared 15 amazing years together—truly the best years of my life. With Maureen gone I struggled to put my feelings into words, and my journals gathered dust on a shelf. After attending several writing workshops, I realized I was able to write again when given “prompts.” Now I am able to write more frequently. Each time I work on my story something is released and I feel a sense of calm and accomplishment. I am excited to share this method of finding comfort and healing through the magic of writing!
