Take Root is KHJN’s annual conference focusing on reproductive justice education and outreach in “red" states (or states with majority conservative legislative power) to engage with ally organizations and academic partners.
The conference this fall centers on the criminalization of all pregnancy outcomes, gender-affirming rights and care, political violence and right-wing movements, abortion storytelling, maternal mortality, and abolitionist practices.

Political Research Associates (PRA) is a social justice research and strategy center devoted to supporting organizations, civic leaders, journalists, and social sectors that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society. We provide change-makers with strategic insights and actionable research in order to identify, disrupt, and compete with movements and institutions that undermine democracy, justice, and human rights. Political Research Associates is hosting a scenario planning and resilience-building session at Take Root on Friday, October 18th, from 9 AM to 1 PM. The purpose of this session is to build resilience for reproductive justice organizations and organizers by preparing them for these scenarios. In preparation for this session, we have created a survey to allow organizations and organizers to inform us of scenarios they would like to be prepared for in light of the upcoming election and the growing authoritarian threats at both federal and state levels. This workshop is open and available to all conference attendees but will be capped at 30 attendees. Please fill out the survey to pre-register for this session. |
