Redeeming AI: Biblical Guidelines
Dr. Russell Haitch, Presenter
Artificial intelligence cries out for spiritual wisdom. Please join us to explore how families and
churches can develop sound technology policies, using biblical guidelines.
We’ll also examine innovations that raise deeper questions—such as AI companions for aging
parents, AI tutors or therapists for children, and brain-computer interfaces to restore or enhance thinking.
Whatever you think of AI (or AI thinks of you), together we’ll seek the mind of Christ to navigate its promises and pitfalls.
Russell Haitch is Professor of Theology and Human Science at Bethany Theological Seminary.
He holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Amherst College, an M.Div. with honors, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
In the past Russell has served as a pastor of a multiethnic congregation and as a writer for a
New York advertising agency.
His books include Eyes of the Heart: Seeing God in an Age of Science, From Exorcism to Ecstasy:
Eight Views of Baptism, and the forthcoming Godlike Power: Saving Our Humanity in the Age of AI.
Russell enjoys exploring the intersection of theology and technology and looks forward to a thoughtful
conversation with fellow ministers.
