Youth SAVE (Suicide Assessment in Various Environments) is a virtual training designed to empower school staff and community-based service providers to effectively assess, screen, and intervene with children and youth who are experiencing thoughts of suicide. Learning Objectives:

  • Implement anti-oppressive suicide prevention and intervention through the use of an equity framework and prompts for participants to reflect on identity, intersectionality, and bias
  • Conduct suicide screening and intervention in person or virtually, utilizing various digital tools
  • Discuss intentional strategies for strengths-based caregiver involvement
  • Emphasize youth resilience, autonomy, and agency in collaborative safety planning
  • Encourage the application of training content in the participant’s specific setting through the use of an Implementation Webinar
