After a great reunion last year, we are excited to welcome alumni, family, friends, and supporters back to Fredericton for UNB REDS Soccer Opening Weekend, September 11 - 13.
This year, we are taking a more relaxed approach, creating opportunities to reconnect with teammates and friends while celebrating the past, present, and future of UNB REDS Soccer. We have planned a casual menu of activities, including golf, an alumni game, a memorial gathering, and both REDS home-opening matches.
There is no fee to register, and you can choose to participate in as many or as few activities as you like. Whether you join us for the whole weekend, one event, or simply come back to cheer on the REDS, we would love to see you.
Complimentary admission to games will be provided to everyone who registers in advance. (Names will be provided to gate)
Weekend Schedule:
Friday, September 11
10:00 a.m. – Golf at West Hills (green fees apply)
3:45 – 4:45 p.m. – Pre-Game Social at The Cellar Pub (UNB Campus)
5:00 p.m. – UNB REDS Women's Soccer vs. Memorial – BMO Centre
Concessions and beer tent will be available on site.
Following the women's match, we will gather on the field for a group photo featuring all UNB Soccer alumni and both teams.
7:30 p.m. – UNB REDS Men's Soccer vs. Memorial – BMO Centre

10:00 a.m. – Casual Meet-Up at the Boyce Farmers Market

Sunday, September 13
9:00 a.m. – Memorial Gathering at College Field to honour members of our soccer family who have passed away during the past year, followed by a special scholarship fund announcement celebrating the legacy of Gerry Murphy.
10:00 – 11:45 a.m. – Brunch at a local restaurant (location to be confirmed, pay your own way). Advance registration is required so we can provide numbers to the restaurant.
12:00 p.m. – UNB REDS Women's Soccer vs. Cape Breton – BMO Centre
Concessions and a beer tent will be available on site.
Following the women's match, we will gather on the field for a group photo featuring all UNB Soccer alumni and both teams.
2:30 p.m. – UNB REDS Men's Soccer vs. Cape Breton – BMO Centre

(select quantity) The Gerald and Golda Murphy Scholarship will be awarded each year to a Fredericton campus student who is a member of the UNB REDS men's soccer team and has completed at least the minimum requirements for the first year of an undergraduate degree program, must have achieved a minimum 2.0 grade point average in the previous year of study for returning students, as per U SPORTS regulations. Established by Friends and Family in memory of Gerald P. Murphy (BPE ‘80, BED1 ‘80, MED ‘89). |
