Communicating Mathematical Reasoning Series

This professional learning series will support Grades 5–8 educators in strengthening students’ ability to explain, represent, justify, and communicate mathematical reasoning. Participants will explore the CA Mathematics Framework, task design, mathematical discourse, UDL-aligned supports to deepen conceptual understanding and provide additional ways for students to communicate their thinking. Between sessions, teachers will have opportunities to apply their learning through classroom practice, coaching office hours, and optional observation and feedback. The series will culminate in examining student work and using evidence of student thinking to plan next instructional steps.l steps.
