Together with RM Sotheby’s and the Porsche Club of America, Hagerty invites you to Pick of the Litter, an intimate seminar all about Porsches. Our lineup of expert panelists will discuss the best all-around Porsches for handling, performance, road trips, track days and overall value.

Brad Phillips - Moderator

Hagerty’s Director of Business Development for Automotive Lifestyles, Brad Phillips has been a car enthusiast for as long as he can remember. He has owned and restored over thirty cars, with an eclectic current collection spanning eighty years. Long distance tours and rallies are his thing, and he can be found driving everything from a 1916 Hudson to an ‘80s Ferrari to every corner of the country. Lately Brad has been burning up the roads in a ’66 Sunbeam Tiger and an ’87 911 G50 Carrera. Brad has been part of the Hagerty world since 2003.

Nathan Merz

Nathan Merz is a native of Kirkland, Washington, and a member of the Pacific Northwest and Inland Northwest PCA regions. An avid Porsche enthusiast, his favorite is his 1971 911 E coupe. To combine his passion and his livelihood, the sales and marketing professional switched careers 11 years ago and founded Columbia Valley Luxury Cars, which focuses primarily on Porsches. Nathan is a frequent contributor to Panorama and is a well-known speaker at Porsche events.

Rob Sass

Rob Sass has covered the classic car market for The New York Times, Sports Car Market, Classic and Sports Car magazine and Autoweek. Sass previously served as the publisher of Hagerty magazine, and is the former editor-in-chief of Chevrolet’s New Roads magazine. He continues to contribute to the Hagerty Price Guide and is the editor-in-chief of Porsche Panomora, the official publication of the Porsche Club of America. Rob has owned approximately 50 collector cars, including a selection of air and water-cooled Porsches, as well as everything from a Buick Riviera to a Daimler SP 250.

Matt Malamut

A long-time car enthusiast, California native Matt Malamut studied automotive technology at San Diego Miramar College and completed his studies in communication at the University of Southern California. Growing up with a father who was a Porsche mechanic and collector, Matt was exposed to German sports cars at an early age. A long-time Porsche Club of America member, he particularly likes early 9llS and 356 models, although he is also interested in most European and Japanese marques. Matt joined RM Sotheby’s in 2012 and currently serves as a car specialist
