    Improving Performance Measurement - Tuesday March 12, 2019 (7:30am - 3:30pm)

How do you determine what data you need to improve a process? Are you getting the data you need to improve?

Many leaders struggle with determining what to measure to improve and more importantly, how to get the data. Operational leaders may speak a different language than the IT or analytics team when it comes to requests for data.

During this one-day session, learn how to identify and use the right data as process measures to improve outcomes. Operational processes play a pivotal role and can directly impact the quality of the data that informs improvement processes. Practice leveraging information flow and material flow to inform metric selection.  Unlocking the data life cycle can enable operational leaders to effectively communicate data analysis requests that provide insight into performance and support improvement.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

    • Describe the difference between process metrics and outcome metrics
    • Apply the use of process metrics in improvement
    • Choose the appropriate performance metric to measure improvement
    • Explain data needs to the analytics support team

    REGISTRATION FEE: $690

    Adaptive Problem Solving - Wednesday, March 13, 2019 (7:30am - 3:30pm)

How do you ensure you are using the right methods to solve your problems? Time and time again improvement initiatives fail to have a lasting impact because they don’t address the problem. When thinking systemically and embracing scientific thinking, it is important to understand the type of problem you may have so that you can employ adaptive problem solving.

The first part of this session will explore how to act with humility, practice curiosity, and embrace continuous learning by understanding neuroscience and personal adaptation approaches.

The second part of the session will explore adaptive problem solving. Knowing the different classes of problems will help you determine which problem-solving system you may need to respond. By understanding these problem classes, you will be able to employ the right tool(s) for the issue you are working on. Learning about the different models needed will enable you to think systemically and ensure that you can accelerate impact on your problems.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

    • Recognize your own adaptive blind spots and develop your own personal adaptive change plan
    • Tune your improvement journey to your culture to maximize sustainable impact
    • Utilize adaptive problem solving to sense your class of problem and apply the appropriate method to address your most important business gaps
