Join some of our expert presenters as they share their water aerobics expertise and show you how to develop classes that are safe, fun, and effective! Continuing education credits are awarded for attending this one-day event.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations must be in writing fifteen days prior to the first day of conference. Your registration may then be transferred to another event through December 31, 2023 without a penalty or a transfer fee. Any cancellations within 15 days of the event date may be transferred with a $25 transfer fee to another event. There are no refunds. RECESS REMIX: Taking the Playground to the Pool Looking for something different to add to your aqua fitness plan? Despite the Power of the power of play, somewhere between childhood and adulthood many of us stop playing. We exchange play for work and life responsibilities. Give your classes permission to play again by adding awesome pool games to the mix. This workshop offers old school P.E. fun with a high intensity, athletic approach to water fitness. Relay races, tag and even game of tug-o-war in the pool create efficient intervals that allow participants to maintain great levels of intensity throughout their entire session. Play teaches how to manage stress and how to connect to others and the world around us. Share in the fun by taking the playground to the pool. Water Warrior: Aqua Walking/Running (Shallow and Deep) Prepare your students and athletes to take their road warrior spirits to the water! This shallow/deep aqua endurance workshop implements a combination of, aqua walking and running. It will give you numerous tools and moves that can be incorporated into any shallow water fitness class, or you can create a class just utilizing the principles of water walking/running. Then using buoyancy equipment in the deep part of a pool, the aquatic environment becomes an ideal venue to replicate one's true running form, preserving normal (land-based) running biomechanics without the impact. These workouts can also be used to rehabilitate clients who have suffered a land-based injury, as they minimize further damage, and promote cardiovascular fitness prior to and offer a great medium for recovery after a land-based event. |

Going deep with your water workouts not only burns calories, reduces stress on your joints, it also cross trains the body for major benefit.
Add to your exercise repertoire ideas on usage of buoyancy equipment for resistance and assistance. Work on creating full body workouts in the deep for strength and cardio conditioning. Explore ways to increase intensity while in the safe and forging environment of deep water.
Equipment will include wave belts, hand buoys, noodles, and wave webs. Proper fitting, usage and do’s and do nots will be discussed in this poolside class. |
