While the reasons that bring people to Camp Widow® are tragic, the event truly is packed with understanding and community, and we'd love to be able to assist you in joining us. 

If after reading through the options below, you believe that one of these options will enable you to join us at one of our camp events, please complete an application by selecting the "register" button above. 

Please note that Soaring Spirits raises the funds for every Campership that is awarded, so we kindly request that you select the option below that would provide the level of funding that would enable you to join us. The cut-off date for campership requests is February 17, 2023.

OPTIONS:

• Half Campership: Provides a $475 subsidy for any person for whom this level of support would make attending one of our camps possible. If this option would work for you, your campership will be immediately approved, and you will receive a link that will allow you to register for the Camp Widow event at the discounted rate of $225.

• Full Campership: If you require more assistance to attend Camp Widow, please know that we do our best to provide as many $700 camperships as possible for each event. This will allow you to attend the event at no cost (excluding travel and hotel), and each camp will have up to ten $700 registrations available. Beyond those ten registrations, applications are added to the waiting list in the order that they are received. It is possible that a registered camper may be unable to attend camp at the last minute or that an angel donor would fund a number of campers attendance in the days ahead of the event. If you are able to be flexible with attending at the last minute, there are often last minute opportunities to attend with a $700 subsidy.

Please note that we are currently unable to provide travel or housing assistance at this time. Our camperships fund only the registration portion of the camp program.

*COVID-19 MANAGEMENT POLICY:

In order to create a safe physical space that supports the safe emotional space for which Camp Widow is known, we will be asking each camper, regardless of vaccination status, to bring a COVID-19 at-home test (If you are unable to find an at-home testing kit in your area, we will have a limited number of tests available for sale onsite) which you will self-administer just before entering the registration area for Camp Widow. The first step of the registration process will be showing your self-administered negative test to our health check team. They will provide you with a wristband confirming that you’ve checked in and are ready to proceed with the registration process.

We highly recommend that in addition to testing onsite, each camper considers a self test prior to leaving for camp to ensure that you will have a negative test result when testing at camp. Please be prepared with a contingency plan should you test positive for COVID-19. Each camper will be responsible for themselves should they need to quarantine or be unable to attend Camp Widow due to a positive test result.
