Osteoporosis is a common disorder characterized by low bone density and poor bone quality resulting in increased risk of fractures. Despite the availability of excellent tools to assess fracture risk and approved medications that reduce fracture risk, most patients at risk for fractures are not being treated. The large treatment gap is now recognized as a global crisis in the care of patients with osteoporosis. Educational intervention is warranted to improve patient care and professional knowledge in evaluation and management of metabolic bone diseases. In order to close practice gaps, clinicians need an approach to risk stratifying patients evaluating the cause and use evidence to guide management of metabolic bone disease and how to design an optimal sequence of osteoporosis medication treatment. The conference will utilize a combination of lectures and panel discussions to facilitate interactions and give audience time to ask questions related to their practices.

This conference is intended for clinical providers and other healthcare professionals with an interest in metabolic bone disease.
