Ohio Peer Recovery Organizations (OhioPRO) is the statewide advocate for peer organizations and peer recovery supporters. We work to promote the importance of the voices of individuals with a lived experience of mental illness, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder and to strengthen the system of and investment in recovery supports throughout the state.

OhioPRO’s driving force is its mission, vision, and value statements. Our mission is to strengthen and expand the impact of peer recovery organizations throughout Ohio. We envision Ohioans thriving in their recovery. Our six values—impact, expansion, lived experience, unified voice, hope and connection—guide us on our goal in making a difference in peer support.

The 2023 Peer Recovery Summit – Ohioans Thriving in Recovery, is an event where Ohio’s peer supporters will gather to network, learn, and grow in a space dedicated to their advancement. This year’s event will feature Paolo del Vecchio, M.S.W. as the keynote speaker. Mr. del Vecchio is the Director of the Office of Recovery and the Director of the Office of Management, Technology, and Operations for SAMHSA. A self-identified mental health consumer, trauma survivor, and person in recovery from addictions, Paolo has been involved for over 40 years in behavioral health as a consumer, family member, provider, advocate, and policy maker.

With other inspiring speakers and transformative educational sessions, peer supporters will find them-selves leaving the summit with new ideas and invigoration to continue to do the important work in their communities.

OhioPRO is also excited that at the 2023 Peer Recovery Summit it will be debuting the new OhioPRO mobile app. This mobile app is a groundbreaking endeavor championed by the OhioPRO Peer Support-er Advisory Group. The mobile app will connect Ohio’s peer supporters to each other, events, and various resources.

OhioPRO is dedicated to supporting the work of peer recovery organizations and supporters, and we are confident that the 2023 Peer Recovery Summit will be another avenue to make a positive impact in Ohio. We want to see Ohioans thriving in their recovery, and this summit is an important means to that end.
