Description

What exactly is HIPAA? Why is HIPAA important? Does HIPAA apply to me? This 3-hour law and ethics workshop will answer those questions. We will discuss what HIPAA is, who it applies to, and what it requires. Participants will gain an understanding of the Federal HIPAA rules and how best to meet HIPAA requirements and document your compliance. This course is intended to meet Law & Ethics CE requirements.  


Learning Objectives

After taking part in this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify who and what is subject to HIPAA
  • Describe what HIPAA regulations require
  • Create strategies to meet and exceed HIPAA standards
  • Create strategies to effectively document HIPAA compliance
  • Specifically apply this knowledge to clinical work for Veteran clients
