This course will focus on American Indian history from the perspective of Utah’s Indigenous people and their tribal experience told by tribal members. The course will also cover United States Federal Indian policies and the history of American Indian Education. The goal of this course is to help teachers gain a better understanding of Native American students and to learn appropriate ways to integrate topics related to Utah history. Attendees will also learn about the work of Nebo's Title VI program. This year's training will build on the training from the past few years while also providing new opportunities. Participants will gather practical ideas and considerations. USBE credit is available.
