The Young Investigators in Parasitology (YIPS) meeting is a biennial meeting for new PIs in Parasitology. Designed to make the daunting task of setting up a new lab a little easier, YIPs is both a crash course in the skills needed to run a successful research lab and a way to build community among new group leaders in parasitology.
During the meeting, Junior PIs will have the chance to discuss multiple topics relevant to initiating an independent research program, among peers and with a panel of established investigators in our field of parasitology. We will cover topics such as Setting Priorities & Boundaries, Recruiting & Hiring, Effective Training, Mentoring & Motivation, Difficult conversations, and Publication and Funding Strategies.
We will also have AMA (as me anything) style discussions about funding with the Program Officers for the field of Parasitology from the NIH and NSF.
We look forward to seeing you at YIPS!
