This class will be instructed by Dragon Rescue Management Inc., who specializes in elevator emergency management.


Fire Department’s respond to countless calls for elevator emergencies annually. Most elevators are equipped with a “Fire Service Mode” specifically for fire department elevator control. This class is designed to bring awareness, understanding, basic knowledge and emergency considerations to elevator incidents.


Course Objective: To provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform safe elevator Operations/Rescue. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will know of the common types of elevators, how to identify the elevator components, how to respond appropriately to a stalled elevator, how to identify the safe evacuation of a stalled elevator, and when and where to do Lock Out/ Tag Out.


Course Description: Major topics covered in this course include firefighter safety, elevator history, types of elevators, elevator components, suggested Operational Guidelines, how to properly respond to a stalled elevator, how to safely evacuate an elevator under an emergency situation, how to safely and properly do Lock Out/ Tag Out.
