Program Description:
By training through lecture and small group case studies ED physicians and other health care providers s will have a better understanding of the approach, evaluation and management of poisoned patients in an updated live format. Learners will walk away better equipped to manage overdoses in general and especially when an antidote is required, or unique cases are presented
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to
1) Describe and identify the toxities and treatments potentially available regardingCART therapy.
2) Describe and identify treatment approaches for patients presenting with unique toxidromes after using contemporary drugs of abuse.
3) Describe and develop a rational management approach for patients presenting with highly toxic agents, poisoning while elderly, the use of sports enhancing drugs, over the counter agents, and toxicities seen after compounding pharmacy misadventure in addition to agents of terrorism.
