Although the concept of standard work is commonly accepted as a best practice in companies implementing lean, the focus tends to be for front-line staff. That is, standard work is great for those performing value-add activities. Less well known is the idea of standard work as applied to those in a management position. Leader Standard Work is of critical importance for developing a true lean culture.
Leader Standard Work (some practitioners prefer Leader Standardized Work) can be used at all management levels from shop floor supervisors up to senior managers. In this Learn @ Lunch TMAC’s Russ Aikman will explain what is meant by Leader Standard Work and share the critical role LSW plays in the successful implementation of a Lean Management System.
