THIS EVENT IS 100% FREE!

The Long Memory Project is the highly anticipated inaugural artist residency where regional elders gathered with young local artists to share the stories of their journeys through activism in lower northern Michigan.

The fire for justice in our community is spreading from the voices of our elders to the voices of talented and emerging young artists. Join us for the opening performance showcasing these works with musicians Seth BernardSam Cooper and Zach Watson, and writers Jaime Delp and Amber Edmondson. Listen as they transformed community elders' stories of social justice efforts in:

  • Upholding native fishing rights
  • Opposing the Big Rock nuclear power plant
  • Stopping waterfront development of the Bayview Mall
  • Strengthening the international peace movement

Price: $20 per seat

Ticket sales are limited.

Doors open at 3:00pm

Concert begins promptly at 3:30pm.

The Long Memory Project artist residency was made possible with our partners, Earthwork Music, Holly Wren Spaulding and the Neahtawanta Research and Education Center, and the funding from generous community members, The National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.
