As a continuation of the CONNECT Our Future mission, CCOG U continues to provide learning opportunities for the region's planners, businesses, educators, non-profits, and others to learn about topics that help us continue to support our region's communities, improve quality of life, and help us remain competitive in a global market vying for residents, jobs, and businesses.
Beginning again in February, Centralina COG will host a series of six (6) training sessions to cover a few of the 'hottest' planning topics in the greater Charlotte region that align with one or more of the 10 CONNECT Our Future priorities.
We invite you to sign-up for individual sessions at a cost of $30 per session or register for all six and receive a discount ($30).
Each session will begin at 11:30am with lunch and networking, with the official program starting at 11:45am. Session lengths vary, but offer between 1.25 to 1.5 AICP CM credits.

The increase in drone ownership has led to questions about privacy and safety as those drones have buzzed commercial planes, peered over neighbor's hedges and into windows with mini-video cameras. The counterbalance to drones is their usefulness in commercial and government uses such as mapping, observing, and investigating risky situations. But this usefulness also brings its own challenges and issues. At this session, participants will learn about some of the legal issues of drones and how local governments can proceed.
