Workplace violence is one of the major causes of death in the corporate world, second only to transportation incidents; likewise, it has a major financial and psychological impact on businesses as well.

Workplace violence accounted for:

• 17% of workplace deaths in 2016 were the result of violence (Source: National Safety Council)

Women are Most Affected says the Bureau of Labor Statistics

• 24% of workplace homicides were women

• 9% of workplace homicides were men

According to OSHA

• About 2 million people each year report some type of workplace violence

• It is estimated that 25% of workplace violence goes unreported

Impact on Business

• Half-million employees miss an estimated 1.8 million work days each year due to violence (Source: Alertfind.com)

• Results in more than $55 million in lost wages and an estimated total cost of $130 billion (Source: Lower & Associates)
