Youth SAVE (Suicide Assessment in Various Environments) is a virtual training designed to empower school staff and community-based professionals to effectively assess and intervene with youth who are experiencing thoughts of suicide. Youth SAVE is a program of REAP.


Learning Objectives:

  • Apply an equity lens to suicide prevention and intervention with youth
  • Conduct suicide assessment, screening, and intervention in person or virtually utilizing various digital tools
  • Incorporate youth resiliency factors into a collaborative safety plan
  • Identify and analyze needs, protocols, and tools related to suicide intervention with youth 
  • Identify and connect youth and families to local resources


Participants should come to Youth SAVE already having a basic understanding of how to engage with someone having thoughts of suicide.


Training Dates/Times:

  • Day 1: April 10, 2025, 8:30 am-12:30 pm
  • Day 2: April 11, 2025, 8:30 am-12:30 pm


Youth SAVE participants may receive 6.5 CEUs from the NASW.


This training is hosted by the Willamette Education Service District & Clackamas Education Service District. An asynchronous webinar that considers the uniqueness of a participant's school and agency setting, and offers tangible ideas for integrating the Youth SAVE skills and tools into that setting (60 min). The webinar is completed after attending the Youth SAVE synchronous sessions. Participants cannot access the Youth SAVE Participant Resource Folder or continuing education units (CEUs) until this webinar is completed.
