COURSE DESCRIPTION

Seeing new adult patients unequivocally means they have had a previous experience, which typically will serve as a reference during their onboarding process in your clinic. Starting professional relationships with new patients allows the practice to come together as a team, learn, and be creative. In this module, Dr. Ricardo Mitrani delves into the nuances and implications of building long-term relationships with new patients. Some fundamental objectives are to reduce anxiety, build engagement and trust, and secure future case acceptance. For this to happen predictably, the entire team must understand the Buyer’s Journey, practice active listening, and use Patient Education videos.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Relate the new patient experience.
• Discuss the key questions to ask that will help the onboarding process.
• Use communication tools to optimize the patient's experience.

About Dr. Devan Munk:

Dr. Munk completed his undergraduate studies at Utah State University before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. His surgical training began at MetroHealth Medical Center, a leading Level 1 trauma center in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency through Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he trained at several prestigious institutions, including:

• MedStar Washington Hospital Center, the largest and busiest Level 1 trauma center in Washington, DC
• The Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center
• Children's National Hospital, the only pediatric Level 1 trauma center in Washington, DC
• The National Institutes of Health

His training encompassed the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Throughout his residency, he was actively involved with the Resident Organization of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, advocating for patients and the specialty at the national level.
